PECTAA plays an important role in strengthening the education system of Punjab. The quality of education our children receive today will shape the future of the province. This places a serious responsibility on institutions working in this sector. By reforms in curriculum, teacher training and assessment, the Authority is making steady efforts to raise the standards of learning across Punjab. Our focus remains on fairness and quality with solutions that work in real classroom settings. Government of the Punjab has placed prime priority on betterment of educational opportunities so that children from all backgrounds can benefit.

It is truly an honour to serve at the Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority. I look to strengthen the learning outcomes for every child and make the people of Punjab trust our educational system. The combination of curriculum, teacher training and assessment as a mandate of PECTAA provides an exceptional opportunity to bring about consistency, relevance and quality education in Punjab. I would like PECTAA to work towards putting an end to rote learning and help students think critically, be confident and succeed in a fast changing world.Â
I am willing to go at length to support teachers, encourage innovation and make the system transparent. I want to engage the public, specially parents to provide us their valuable input in making the Punjab curriculum robust and in line with international best practices. You will find a live poll at the end of this page. We encourage you to use it to share your suggestions and feedback on the Punjab curriculum.
At the same time, we want to keep students mental well being at the heart of every initiative. PECTAA will welcome close collaboration with teachers, parents, education experts and development partners from all walks to draft a curriculum which is forward looking but at the same time keeps us close to our roots. Together and in accordance with the vision of CM Punjab, PECTAA will make meaningful and long lasting improvements. About PECTAA
PECTAA has been established by Government of the Punjab as the apex authority responsible for coordinating Training, Assessment and institutional oversight under a single body. The intent of this consolidation is to improve consistency, raise academic standards and support better learning outcomes across the province. It functions under the supervision of a Chief Executive Officer and is structured into three functional wings to manage academic work, operational matters and oversight responsibilities.
Operations
The Operations Wing ensures that service delivery is reliable and internal functioning is smooth. It includes Field Operations and IT. In times to come, this will be the backbone of an Authority on the rise.
Academics
The Academics Wing drives innovation in learning by developing curriculum, enhancing teacher capability, and strengthening student assessment systems. Through Curriculum & Compliance, Training & Certification, Assessment & Exams, and Outreach & Research, it empowers educators and learners to meet global standards while addressing local needs.
Monitoring & Evaluation
The Monitoring & Evaluation Wing is responsible for guarding quality and accountability at PECTAA. By focusing on M&E, the wing ensures continuous improvement, transparency, and performance. This creates a culture of trust and progress in education.

Strategic partnership with Aitchison College for Teacher Education

In line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab and Minister for School Education,Punjab, PECTAA has initiated a strategic partnership with Aitchison College, Lahore.
This partnership will advance teacher education and quality assurance.
A delegation led by MD Academics Dr. Zubda Zia-ul-Rehman met with Ms. Tina Hameed and her team at the Teaching & Learning Center to explore collaboration in master trainer development, curriculum and material design, quality assurance, teacher licensing and certification, and joint research.
The engagement reaffirmed PECTAA’s commitment to excellence and global standards in the teaching profession. Both institutions agreed to move swiftly towards implementation, beginning with preliminary groundwork and a formal MoU, marking a meaningful step towards educational innovation.
