Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat

Minister for School Education, Punjab

I hold a deep conviction that the future of Punjab rests on the strength of its classrooms. Every investment we make in our children's education today will shape a more capable, equitable, and self-reliant province tomorrow.

In the past year, we have taken bold steps to reform public education—from ensuring transparent teacher transfers and improving school infrastructure, to prioritizing the professional development of educators and strengthening student assessments. But reform must go beyond administration—it must ignite purpose, confidence, and opportunity in every learner.

The establishment of Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training & Assessment Authority (PECTAA) is a landmark in this journey. For the first time, curriculum, training, assessment, and institutional performance are united under one umbrella to ensure coherence, quality, and accountability across the system. This integrated approach will help us deliver education that is modern, inclusive, and truly centered on student learning.

I envision a Punjab where every child, whether in a remote village or urban classroom, has access to the same high standards of teaching, resources, and support. I believe in equipping our children not just with literacy and numeracy, but with the creativity, values, and resilience they need to thrive in the 21st century.

I commend the team at PECTAA for taking up this responsibility with vision and dedication. Together—with our teachers, parents, development partners, and citizens—we will build an education system worthy of our children's dreams and our province's destiny.
