The Chief Minister Punjab’s School Nutrition Program, a flagship component of this initiative, specifically provides daily milk packs to 400,000 primary school children in the aforementioned districts, with plans to expand province-wide. Aligned with the Green Punjab Policy, the program also emphasizes sustainability, recycling 13 million milk bags monthly to minimize environmental impact.
The Punjab School Meal Program is a transformative initiative aimed at improving educational outcomes by addressing the critical link between nutrition and learning. Implemented across three key districts—Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, and Rajanpur—the program provides daily fortified meals to students from Katchi to Grade 5, targeting both male and female students. By improving student health and well-being, the program seeks to enhance academic performance and increase school attendance.
To rigorously assess the program’s impact, comprehensive data was collected at two points: baseline (September 2024) and post-intervention (December 2024). The evaluation focused on changes in student learning outcomes, attendance, and overall well-being.
